Solid Giving Back

As a successful corporation, we challenge ourselves to be socially responsible members of our communities, which is why we feel it is important to be actively involved. With so many wonderful organizations working incredibly hard to make a difference, we ask you as well as industry colleagues to give back whenever possible. The following organizations are a few that we have adopted. We would be happy to discuss with you how you can help make a difference.

Established in 1972, SickKids Foundation is the fundraising organization for The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) - one of Canada's most research-intensive hospitals and the largest centre dedicated to improving children's health in the country. Each year, SOLID General Contractors has proudly given monetary donations and is the Millennium Sponsor in the annual Larissa's Straight From The Heart Classic Golf Tournament sponsored and co-ordinated by Atrens-Counsel Insurance Brokers Inc. supporting SickKids Foundation.

The United Way is one of Canada's most prominent non-profit organizations put in place to help improve living conditions and quality of life for Canadians. They address issues such as poverty; provide youth services, crisis intervention and services for the elderly. In 2010 SOLID has taken Title Sponsorship in the Region of Peel's Golf Tournament to help support the United Way.

The Daily Bread Food Bank is a non-profit, charitable organization striving to end hunger for those less fortunate. Each year this organization hosts an annual Spring Hope Food Drive to help replenish the diminishing food levels of their food supply. SOLID General Contractors annually contributes to their cause by donating food and supplying them with logistical support in the form of company vehicles and drivers.

At SOLID General Contractors we recognize that for an Olympic athlete, competing in the games begins as a dream. Before the games began in February 2010, we proudly sponsored 5 athletes and 1 coach. Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir an Ice Dancing Pair, won the first gold medal for Canada in this sport. We look forward to continuing our support of these 5 athletes as they train, prepare and compete their way to the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia. GO CANADA GO!
